Whenever I start with,
“people always ask me” or
“I’m often asked” or
“someone asked me recently,”
it usually means I have something I want
to share with others but
no one has actually asked me to do so,
and I find it easier to excuse my impulsive
explosion of self-disclosure with a harmless
lie than abandon the thought to the isolated
confines of my solitary mind.
